I created the Ghost boxes as a gesture of resistance. They are twenty-seven silver shipping boxes with counterfeit labels. The number twenty-seven is the number of shipments I shipped from Chicago to Philadelphia. While continually traveling from place to place, the number of shipments kept growing. I wanted these boxes to be so artificial that they could not be shipped. I wanted to turn my boxes into things that refuse to be shipped. I wanted to see shipping boxes that would like to stay. I wanted to please others. And above all, I wanted to please myself.
