I made the Ghost boxes as a gesture of resistance. They are twenty seven silver shipping boxes with fake labels. The number twenty seven is the number of shipments I shipped from Chicago to Philadelphia. When I moved to US from Korea, it was about ten boxes. But then the number of shipments has been ever-growing as I was making the transition from place to place. I wanted my boxes to be so artificial that they could not be shipped. I wanted to have shipping boxes that refused to be shipped. I wanted to see shipping boxes that would like to stay. I wanted to please others. And above all, I wanted to please myself.
